About the MFF

***YOU WATCH FROM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD***

The Muslim Film Festival “MFF2020” is showcasing two weeks of independent films made by Muslims, or telling stories about Muslims anywhere in the world, by anyone Muslim or non-Muslim!
This year, we received 74 films including shorts and features and our judges have selected 55 brilliant films for your enjoyment.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, MFF2020  held mostly virtually via the Vimeo platform (VOD).
All our fans in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and pretty much from anywhere else in Australia or around the globe, please watch this space and tune in for an amazing COUCHED film festival experience from your lounge-rooms or wherever you are!

MFF aims to promote inclusion, tolerance, and friendship and introduce Muslim society’s culture and stories to a wider audience. Our program reflects the diversity and opportunities within Muslim communities in the West and all over the world, through fiction and documentary films, short and long, and our goal is to show films that the audience would otherwise have not seen, and leave a lasting impact.

So, please join us on this amazing journey 🙂
We look forward to seeing you attending and sharing this event wherever and whenever you can! #mff2020 #MuslimFilmFestival

MFF2021 entries will be open soon in October 2020,

The major criteria for entry are that films should be either:

* MADE BY MUSLIMS,

* MADE BY NON-MUSLIMS, BUT TELLING STORIES ABOUT MUSLIMS,

Our festival was founded to support and promote Muslim independent films from all around the world and will continue to do so. We recognise how difficult it is to get your film out there and find a platform where your film can reach the right audience. We aim to promote and provide exposure to these films and organise entertaining and culturally diverse sessions.

We look forward to seeing your submissions and welcoming you to the third year of the Muslim Film Festival between 5th of September and 5th of October 2021!

The official selection will be carefully picked by our panel of expert judges and will constitute the films nominated for an award. The films screened at the event will be selected from the official selection and promoted on our social media platforms and website, and the best ones will receive awards at the film festival in a range of categories. The winners will get our official laurels and will be featured on our Facebook page and website and in our media press releases.

Muslim Film Festival has won the award of the Best New Community Project of the year 2019 by Australian Muslim Achievement Award.

Congratulations to all our dedicated team: sponsors, volunteers, producers, directors and fan. Keep up the good work guys!!!
